Acrocanthosaurus (Saurian Isle)

 Size comparison :

Length: 6.5-7.2 meters

Weight: 3 tons

Acrocanthosaurus insularis, or dwarf Acrocanthosaurus is a smaller descendant of it's enormous prehistoric counterpart Acrocanthosaurus atokensis, at only two thirds the size of their ancestors.

While it may have shrunken in size, it hasn't has by much in terms of it's raw, physical power, a heavily built frame with strong muscle attachments along it's elongated spine means that it can fight well above it's weight class. A combination of both a stocky build, powerful arms and claws, and a devastating bite from it's blade like teeth, means that it is capable of bringing down huge sauropods like how it's ancestors did.

The dwarf Acrocanthosaurus produces very distinctive calls, sounding like a steam engine's whistle, this noise is cause the rapid release of air from it's respiratory tract. This has 2 functions, intimidation, and an adaptation to it's arid environment. The forcing of air through it's throat and larynx allows it to release any sand particles trapped within it's respiratory system.
