Deinonychus (Saurian Isle)

 Size comparison:

Length: 3-3,4 m

Weight: 75 kg

A man sized Dromaeosaur, Deinonychus nychitherius lives in small Packs the northern forests and grasslands. Each pack is led by a dominant male, and usually consists of him, and 2-5 subordinate male and females. He is the only one allowed to mate with the females, and is given priority at feeding times. Disputes among social hierarchy are typically resolved by harsh vocal warnings and threat displays, as they usually avoid unnecessary conflict. When they do fight, however, the results are never pretty, as the loser is left with grievous wounds.

They prey upon smaller herbivores that inhabit their ecosystem, such as Homalocephale, Psittacosaurus, and Caudipteryx, as well as small mammals and reptiles, using their namesake "terrible claws" to capture and kill their prey. On occasion they will prey on the slightly larger dwarf Tenontosaurus, however due to it's size, speed, and surprising durability, it usually requires the entire pack's combine effort to go after the ornithopod.
